We will focus on ideas from the book “Kids Are Worth It” by Barbara Coloroso.
It is subtitled “Giving Your Child The Gift of Inner Discipline”, and it provides practical approaches to raising self-assured, responsible and loving children.
Some of the topics for discussion from Coloroso’s book will be:
* Characteristics of “backbone families”
*Encouragement, not bribes and rewards
*Discipline, not punishment
* 4 clues to reasonable consequences
* 3 alternatives to “no”
*How to approach allowances, bedtimes, chores, mealtimes etc.
*Family meetings
This evening would be of interest to parents not only of young children but also up to the teen years.
